		Bathenjane (Eggplant) Salad
		A Syrian dish, "You have to try it, even if you don't like eggplant". Roasted eggplant, tomato paste, fresh garlic and special spices served on bed of lettuce with fresh vegetables.
		Baba Ganosh - BBQ Eggplant
		An Armenian dish, it is very popular in the old Arabic countries. Finely ground barbecued eggplant with creamed tahini, garlic, lemon juice with a touch of olive oil.
		Taboule
		A Lebanese salad traditionally served at "happy" occasions. Italian parsley finely chopped, crushed wheat, tomato, onions, with lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil.
		Tomato Feta Plate
		Originating in Greece, we combine fresh tomatoes and feta cheese.
		Hummus with Meat
		Makes the hummus more rich by adding grilled shawarma meat.
		Calamari
		A popular Mediterranean dish, our calamari is always fresh. We marinate it, deep fry it and serve it on a bed of lettuce, with seafood sauce on the side.
		Thai Shrimp
		Deep fried to a golden brown served on a refreshing salad and homemade dipping sauce.
		Falafel Plate
		A Palestinian dish often described as “The most popular in the Middle East”. Deep fried chickpeas, served with tahini sauce and mixed salad.
		Kibbi
		A shell of finely ground beef with bulgar wheat, stuffed with ground beef, onion spices filling and deep fried.
		Jebneh Makleyeh
		Special soft white unripened cheese, deep fried, served with tomatoes, cucumbers and olives.
		Tzatziki
		The real dip from Greece made from goat milk mixed with garlic and cucumbers.

		Soup is always a big item in Montfort restaurant especially in cold Canadian weather. There is always a competition between Montfort chefs for who can make the best soup.
		Lentil Soup
		A classic Palestinian recipe. “Don’t forget to put a squeeze of lemon on top!”
		French Onion Soup
		Made in the classic French manner with thyme and oregano, topped with bread and cheese.
		Fattoush Salad
		A Lebanese salad, popular for it’s refreshing taste. A mixed salad with fresh mint and pita croutons topped with lemon and olive oil dressing.

		Lettuce, tomato, onion, and cucumber, served with Montfort dressing.

	Pita Bread Specialties
	Pita is the staple bread of the Middle East. Unlike most restaurants which buy their pita prebaked from a bakery, Montfort does the final bake fresh on the premises. We proudly offer it as a side to many of our dishes for dipping, we also stuff it full of a variety of tasty ingredients to create the following popular sandwiches.
		Chicken Shawarma
		"Shawarma" is a method of cooking meat during the celebration of the hunt. It is popular in most Middle Eastern countries. Our chicken is thinly sliced, specially spiced and stacked on a vertical spit. It is then slowly rotisserie roasted. Thin slices are shaved from the roast, then lightly grilled.
		Montfort Chicken
		Our famous in house specialty, the secret recipe for this dish has been handed down for generations. Boneless, skinless chicken breast, grilled with pineapple and special seasonings.
		Pork Shashlik
		Originating from the Kafkaz region in South Russia, this dish was imported into Israel by settlers of Russian descent. Pork tenderloin grilled with bacon, onions and fresh peppers.
		Lamb Shashlik
		A Montfort specialty, we took the same shashlik idea, and created this tasty lamb dish. Lamb grilled with onions and fresh peppers.
		Kafta
		It is by far the most popular dish in Egypt. Beef is freshly minced daily with onions, Italian parsley and special seasonings; open-flame barbecued.
		Steak in a Pita
		The quality of our steak is evident with the first bite. Canadian grade "AAA" Sirloin is marinated with red wine, grilled with onions and stuffed in a pita, served with fresh garden salad on the side.
		Steak in a Pita with Cheese
		Same as the above dish, but cheese lovers will enjoy this twist to our traditional steak in a pita. All above sandwiches are served with our three famous onion, garlic and tomato sauces.
